REASSURE-3

ITIL V3 READINESS ASSESSMENT FROM REMARC

ITIL Version 3 has arrived. The ITIL framework has been refreshed to bring it up to date with current thinking on good practice in IT Service Management.

The questions many organisations are now asking are :

• What does ITIL V3 mean to us?
• What are the key features of V3?
• Which are going to make a difference?
• How do we transition from ITIL V2 to V3

REASSURE3 - The ITIL V3 Readiness Assessment, a blend of education and consultancy services, is the first step to answering these questions. Focusing on the highlights of ITIL V3, those areas which are emerging as favourites to make an early impact on the quality of your IT service delivery, the assessment aims to establish a starting point for your ITIL V3 based service improvement project.

The principle deliverables are:

• An ITIL V3 overview presentation which will provide a high level introduction to the key concepts and value proposition.

• A high quality management report which documents the findings of our assessment as to your alignment with the ITIL V3 highlights. It includes recommendations as to where actions contributing to you service improvement aspirations should be targeted.

Inputs

The assessment will be carried out by means of document examination, overview presentation and structured workshop. The time allocated for the assessment is a day for document examination, one full day on site, followed by a further day preparing the report. Prior to the assessment you will be ask to complete a brief questionnaire and will be provided with a list of documents which should be available approximately a week before the assessment day. You will also be provided with a timetable for the day and recommendations for workshop attendees.

Methods

The on site day will involve:

• A 1.5 - 2 hour ITIL V3 Overview.

This is intended to set the scene for the subsequent assessment by providing a high level overview of the V3 lifecycle approach to IT service management.

• Structured Workshop.

Your Remarc consultant will facilitate a 3 hour structured workshop, the purpose of which is to explore the extent to which key ITIL V3 concepts , functions and processes are already established within your service management regime. They will carry out a brief SWOT analysis enabling the practitioners within your IT organisation to contribute to the establishment of a baseline for your current Service Management practices. • Report.

Your Remarc consultant will document the findings from the assessment in a report which will address the following areas:

o Roles and Responsibilities outlines
o Process outlines
o Assessment findings
o Recommendations

A draft report will be made available for inspection to confirm the factual content and for comments on the recommendations.

• Optional Feedback Session.

If required your Remarc consultant can present the findings in the report to the person commissioning the assessment, senior managers or a broader group within the organisation, as a formal presentation. This feedback session can be utilised, if required, to begin action planning to enable a service improvement project to be established.
